Here comes that killer twist at the end of "Witness for the Prosecution"
It took a while to get into Witness for the Prosecution. The first twenty minutes or so were a bit slow and I wasn’t sure where it was going. But then John Williams (the actor not the award-winning composer) appears and the murder trail begins and holy smokes, what a great movie! And just when you think it’s over, there’s two twists at the end that had me on the edge of my seat in disbelief. It’s quite a twist!
I must commend Charles Laughton for his masterful portrayal of the lead defense lawyer, Sir Wilfred Robarts. I loved how whenever it seems the evidence was too damning to be overcome, somehow Robarts finds a way to discredit the, um, witness for the prosecution. At the very end, he takes up another case, which I will no doubt be watching to find out what happens next!… Man, what an ending!
