100 Years of Movies in 100 Days – Day 67 – Taxi Driver (1976)
Since I’m super=amped up for tonight’s home opener for the L.A. Kings, I went ahead and watched Taxi Driver (for about the billionth time (exaggerating)) around midnight. First off, I don’t recommend doing that as your dreams will, at some point, feature Robert De Niro holding a gun at your face and repeatedly asking you if you’re talking to him.
It’s a very well-written and well-directed movie, no question. Everytime I watch it, it reminds me of all the bad in society. In it’s own weird way, it’s kind of uplifting in that it kinda makes me wanna go out and kick some ass and clean up this city. But then, that’s not exactly ideal. I’m only one human. I can’t possibly make a difference. Only Superman can save us now.
