100 Years of Movies in 100 Days – Day 70 – The Warriors (1979)

Not your average, everyday gang! It's "The Warriors!" Can you dig it??

So to round out the 70′s, I had to screen Walter Hill’s classic gangster action movie The Warriors. If you’re under 30, chances are you have no idea what this movie is, but I assure you, it SO worth a watch! If not for the soundtrack alone, the set-up is so simple yet so effective. Now, I’m not going to say that there are Academy-award winning acting performances here. Far from it, but the one-liners that run throughout this movie are just too awesome to ignore.

The best way I can summarize this movie for the under-30 set is to picture the newscaster battle royale in Anchorman. I’ve always wanted to create a movie with this similar type of structure and maybe some day I will. But for now, I have The Warriors sucka! Can you dig it? Cannn youuu diggg ittt?
